It begins in tragedy and ends in hope.
Ruth 1:1-18
Tragedy befalls the family from Bethlehem.
Ruth 1:18—2:13
From Moab to Bethlehem, the Lord has visited his people and hope begins to blossom.
Ruth 2:14-23
The Lord provides. From emptiness, we begin to see fullness.
Ruth 3
A daring plan and the beginning of the redemption of Ruth.
Ruth 4:1-12
Boaz’s redemption of Ruth and Naomi.
Ruth 4:13-22
The happy ending of the story of Naomi and Ruth. It ends with a surprising genealogy that this great story goes on to a future king and ultimately to great David’s greater Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
